Offered here is  FIVE (5) pieces new aftermarket data cable for Magellan eXplorist 100/200/300 GPS.  Made of super heavy duty cable and parts Don't buy those cable whose socket/plug is thinly built.  They look cute but they break and wear out easily.  You don't want such experience when you are out in the woods or on the road!

Picture 1: what you see in picture 1 above is what you get.

The cable in this listing is compatible with:

Magellan eXplorist 100/200/300

Use this cable to connect your notebook computer to your GPS.  You can also use it for real-time map plotting.

Specifications:

  • length of cable:
    • tip to tip is 55 inches or 138cm
  • cable is super heavy duty type, very thick and very robust.  Don't buy those that is thinly built, they break and wear out easily
  • Connection to your computer is via USB port.  Do not buy those RS232 cable that comes with a USB-RS232 adapter, you will have tons of compatibility problems.  If you want a RS232 cable, then connect it only to RS232 port and not to a USB port via USB-RS232 adapter.

This cable does not provide power.

And I would like to thank my customer Mr. Reid for giving me this info:
I also want to add a useful tip to make your cable even better. I am a Macintosh user. The auction mentions Macintosh users (and believe me, the cable works great with Macs). The typical Mac user might not know where to get software to use the cable, though, and if they can't find software, they can't use the cable. You might want to point your winners to the link for downloading the driver for Macs:

Prolific makes the chip inside of your USB cable, and they do indeed make a Macintosh driver. If you wanted to be really awesome, you could also put their driver right on your driver CD:

(that link is the file for their driver). Their driver also includes a ReadMe file, for installing it, so you don't have to.
